M547 is the new model that improves upon the already existing M537.Although the M547 does offer a slight bump in mega pixels (from 6.0 to 6.2) and supports larger-capacity SDHC flash cards, but the buyers need to compromise a little, with its smaller 2.4-inch screen and some degradation in picture quality.
The main features which it incorporates consists of the 2.4-inch QVGA screen which enables us with bright indoors, the simple interface and lacking in manual controls, the Power and Shutter buttons which occupies the top of the camera; Delete, Flash, and a mode, the LCD screen, Zoom, Menu, Back, and directional buttons on the right side of the LCD.
Most of the pictures are sharp, but with inaccurate colors in less-than-optimal lighting conditions but it goes without saying, that the medium setting (4 MP) produced much better results.
Similar to M537, the M547 supports multiple scene modes (Close Up, Steady Photo, Theatre, Landscape, Portrait, Action, Night Portrait, and Sunset), the M547 automatically operates within the 4levels depending upon the shot (100/200/400/800).
It also consists of the burst mode that offers us to take two to three pictures per second until the memory card is full. The M547 that comes with only 16MB of built-in memory support for SDHC cards for more space. Transferring of videos to a laptop was easy using the included Photo smart Essential software.
So in conclusion we can say, that however, HP’s newest addition to its M Line of digital cameras is essentially the Photo smart M547 ($109), which is relatively an improved version if compared with the previous models. As M547 has increased its resolution from 6.0 MP to 6.2 MP, it now supports a larger capacity SD cards.
For a low estimated budget, it is not a bad deal, with a better off setting at a lower 4 MP resolution, since the 6 MP might create some color and noise problems.
