XFX 7600GTFatality Reviews

This is the first card to get launched after the XFX and johnathan ‘Fatally’ collaboration. A mainstream card based on NVIDIA’s 7600 GT GPU, it comes overclocked, with a 650 MHz core and 1.6 GHz (effective) memory. It has two DVI ports and comes with an S video cable as well. Interestingly, the card uses aluminum fins as a cooling system, instead of a fan. This makes it less noisier. It also supports XHD (extreme High Definition). which enables a maximum resolution up to 2560 x 1600. In our tests, the card scored 7128 in 3D Mark05, which is very good for a midrange card and cannot be compared with high-end onse like ATI Radeon X1950 Crossfire or NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX. In 3D Mark06, it scored 4793, slightly higher than the ATI Radeon X1950 Pro (reviewed in PCQ Feb07, p127). In F.E.A.R., without any AA (Anti-Aliasing) and AF (Anisotropic Filtering). it scored 94 fps; again higher than ATI Radeon X1950 Pro that scored 87 fps. when we increased the setting to maximum with 4xAA and 16x AF, the score reduced to 54fps. For prey, the card scored 69.7 fps at maximum setting, which is very high in tis category. In Doom 3, the card couldn’t really beat ATI Radeon X1950 pro, which scored 117 fps at ultra-high quality compared to Fatallty’s 109.2 fps. The card costs 2k less than the ATI Radeon X1950Pro.
Price:Rs 11,500 (3 yr warranty)
Key Specs: 256 MB DDR3, 650 MHz core, 1.6 GHz Memory, SLI ready, HDTV
Considering the performance and negligible noise level, it’s a good bet at this price.
